Aditya Vij

Aditya was the Chief Executive Officer of Fortis Healthcare Ltd, one of the largest integrated healthcare delivery service providers in India with network of over 55 healthcare facilities. was instrumental in intensifying the company’s focus on healthcare delivery in India and in positioning Fortis amongst the fastest growing integrated Healthcare delivery organizations by broadening its clinical footprint, establishing strong clinical governance mechanisms, implementing common systems and processes, and strengthening the talent base.

Prior to Fortis, he was the Group President at Punj Lloyd, a leading integrated design, engineering, procurement, construction, and project management company serving the energy and infrastructure sectors. He was responsible for setting up the Defence vertical for the Group and was instrumental in collaborating with global companies in the Defence and Aerospace Sector including Airbus Military, Lockheed Martin, Saab Aerospace, and Rheinmetall Defence. In addition, he set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant for heavy machining of large components for Defence and Aerospace applications.

Aditya spent 18 years with General Motors in key leadership positions across Europe and Asia. Some of the key positions that he held with GM include Regional Executive Director – Nordic, Benelux and Switzerland (leading General Motors in Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Norway), Chairman & Managing Director – GM India and General Director – Opel Southeast Europe. Among his significant achievements at GM was the revival of the Saab brand in Sweden, the turnaround and subsequent expansion of GM’s business in India, establishing an Engineering and R&D Centre for Global competitiveness in Bangalore, India and creating a strong GM footprint in Central Europe.
He currently serves of the boards of Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Pvt Ltd, Airworks India Pvt. Ltd., Sunbeam Auto Pvt. Ltd. and Gabriel India Ltd. In the past, he has served on several other boards including that of various Fortis and General Motors entities, Society of Automobile Manufacturers, India and American Chamber of Commerce.

Aditya received an M.B.A. from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Switzerland, and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India as well as an alumnus of Delhi University.
