Anand Kripalu

Anand is a distinguished leader with nearly four decades of experience in the consumer and FMCG sectors, having held pivotal roles across operations and senior management. His career is marked by leadership positions at some of the world’s most renowned companies, including EPL Limited, Diageo India, and Mondelez International. Anand’s journey began at Unilever, where he spent 22 years honing his expertise.

In his tenure as MD & Global CEO of EPL Limited, Anand led the company to maintain its position as a global leader in laminated tubes. At Diageo India, he served as MD & CEO, contributing to the company’s strategic growth and was a member of Diageo’s Global Executive team. His leadership extended to the IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he served as Chairman. Anand’s impact was also felt at Mondelez International, where he was President for India and Southeast Asia, and at Cadbury India, where he was a key member of the global leadership team.

Throughout his career, Anand has consistently delivered transformational outcomes. He revitalized Unilever East Africa, achieving profitable double-digit growth in his first year. At Cadbury India, he accelerated sales and profit growth, achieving a CAGR of nearly 25% over eight years. His strategic vision transformed United Spirits into a respected Diageo subsidiary, and he adeptly navigated EPL through post-COVID challenges to restore profitable growth and expand into new geographies.

Anand holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics from IIT Madras and an MBA from IIM Kolkata, receiving the Distinguished Alumnus Award from both institutions. He completed the Advanced Management Programme at Wharton Business School and serves on the board of IIM Jammu. Anand is an Independent Director and Chairperson on the Boards of Swiggy and United Breweries, an Independent Director on the board of Lupin Ltd, and continues as a Director on the board of EPL.

At Kedaara, Anand collaborates closely with the Consumer team, advising on existing and new investments in the sector.
