Balaji Veeravalli

Balaji Veeravalli is the former Chief Technology Officer of ICICI Bank. During his tenure, ICICI Bank embarked on a technology-led transformation program to evolve from “Bank to BankTech,” strengthening digital platforms and modernising core capabilities at scale. Prior to ICICI Bank, Balaji was Chief of Technology, Operations and Service at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, where he pioneered digitisation initiatives that helped advance the life insurance industry’s shift to digital.

Balaji brings nearly four decades of leadership experience across banking, insurance, telecom, automobiles and a public sector defence undertaking. Over the course of his career, he has held diverse responsibilities spanning technology, operations, customer service, finance and accounting—demonstrating a rare end-to-end perspective on running large, regulated institutions.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Madras and is an Associate Member of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
