Ashay Shah

Ashay has over 15 years of investment experience, encompassing the full lifecycle of private equity and public market investing in India across a variety of industries. He has driven investments, managed portfolio companies and successfully divested investments over this period. Ashay joined Kedaara Capital in 2012 in the private equity team and focused on evaluating investment opportunities across healthcare, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors.

Currently, Ashay is co-leading the Kedaara Public Market Fund initiative along with Parin Mehta and Prakash Gaurav Goel.

Prior to joining Kedaara Capital, Ashay worked in the investment advisory team of Matrix Partners India (“Matrix”), an India-focused private equity fund with US$600 million under management at the time. At Matrix, Ashay primarily focused on the financial services, education and hospitality sectors, leading several investments. Previously, he worked in the investment banking division of Bank of America in New York, in the Financial Institutions group, where he was responsible for the execution of M&A and capital markets transactions for banks, insurers and financial technology companies.

In the past, Ashay served on the board of Bill Forge Private Limited, Sunbeam Lightweighting Solutions Private Limited and Ami Lifesciences Private Limited. He is a member of the Mumbai chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization.

 He holds a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from INSEAD, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Economics from Duke University.
